Yesterday, Sybase iAnywhere introduced the latest version of its XTNDConnect(R) PC mobile personal information management (PIM) synchronization software, with new support for Windows Vista Contacts, Calendar and Tasks and Google Calendar. XTNDConnect PC 7.0 of Sybase iAnywhere further increases efficiency and productivity through the easier, faster two-way synchronization of PIM data between mobile devices and general PC applications all without requiring support from the IT department.
With more than 25 million copies distributed in 17 languages, XTNDConnect PC is the primary software solution for synchronizing contacts, tasks, e-mail, calendars and notes between mobile devices, comprising of those that run Windows Mobile, Symbian, and other favorite PC applications, like Microsoft Outlook/Express, Vista, Lotus Notes/Organizer, Novell GroupWise, and Google.
Terry Orsborn, senior manager of product marketing at Sybase iAnywhere, said that they have seen a considerable growth in the requirements of customers for an ordinary method to synchronize Microsoft Vista contacts, calendar and tasks with mobile devices.
He added thats as Vista adoption continues to increase, so will the requirements for device-to-desktop PIM synchronization. They are continuing to follow through on their Unwired Enterprise initiative to be one of th
e first to bring support for Vista PIM synchronization to their customers in this latest software version.

The main new features of XTNDConnect PC are introduced below:
• Support for Windows Vista Contacts, Calendar and Tasks, Google Calendar, Lotus Organizer Planner and Anniversary items;
• Ease-of-use configuration enhancements for dynamic detection of most devices; and
• Performance enhancements for Lotus Notes and Microsoft providing faster synchronization.
