Microsoft Corporation revealed three more, all-new downloadable add-ons for Windows Vista Ultimate operating system. It is the first time in five months that the company has revived its Ultimate Extras, once a chief selling point for the highest-priced edition of the operating system. The three new Vista Ultimate Extras are listed below:
- Microsoft Tinker: Microsoft Tinker is a casual game by which players are provided with short puzzle game play sessions set in a warm, calming environment.
- Ultimate Extras Sounds from Microsoft Tinker: Based on the positive feedback that was gotten from the release of additional Windows Sound Schemes in April, was integrated the unique audio sounds from Microsoft Tinker into a new sound scheme.
- Windows DreamScene Content Pack #4: adds three additional nature-setting Windows DreamScenes.
The puzzle game, developed by Microsoft partner Fuel Industries, requires a person to get a little robot to a certain point in a small 3D level whilst moving around obstacles and without running out of energy. Levels may be played out of order. In addition, there are energy achievements in each one (you need to finish the level with a certain amount of leftover energy). It's no Halo, but if the person likes puzzle games, The 70MB download is worth it, especially in view of the fact that there's a level editor available. Overall, the small animations and gameplay ensure a very exciting and entertaining little pastime.
The up-to-date releases are available through Windows Update. The still-growing list of Windows Vista Ultimate Extras currently include the following:
- Windows DreamScene (and additional content packs);
- Language Packs;
- BitLocker and EFS Enhancements;
- Hold 'Em Poker game;
- Tinker game;
- Windows Sound Schemes.
At present, some users continue to complain about the quality and quantity of Ultimate Extras as Microsoft issues the new game, sound scheme and screen savers.The new add-ons may only be downloaded by Vista Ultimate users, who will find them on the Windows Update screen.
Chris Flores from Microsoft says that the software giant is going to deliver new Windows Ultimate Extras in the near future. In this case, the above list might increase to a whopping 10 Ultimate Extras before the release of Windows 7.
