How do I understand Dos from a novice point of views?

hello :!: In simple words DOS is MS-DOS (Microsoft disk operating system).

I want to understand how it relates to computer stuff today.

I remember learning about it when I was growing up in school.

Hello,

DOS provides the basic software coordinating the computer's hardware components and a set of programs that lets you perform the many computer system tasks you need to do. If you need more info use google for this purpose. ;)
