MRU Blaster is a privacy cleaning tool by Javacool Software LLC for Windows operating systems that detects and cleans Most Recently Used (MRU) files on your computer system. Most of these files are stored in your Windows registry, thus it's not a simple task for someone who is worried about his privacy to trace them. With MRU-Blaster it is easy: just hit Scan, then Clean now.Microsoft thought it wise that used files be stored in various places in order to offer the users the possibility to load those files more quickly the next time the user needs them. MRU entries are left by almost any software, they are there to give you access to recently used files, documents etc. Most users are happy with this option as they are able to obtain details of previous actions. However, there are users who don't want this information to be accessed by anyone. MRU-Blaster has a solution for this, it is able to detect more than 30,000 MRU items and promptly scan your system. Then it will provide you with a list. Other features include:
• Cookie cleaning (with exclude option),
• Secure file deletion,
• Index.dat file deletion and more.

The effectiveness of MRU Blaster was tested with the help of CCleaner by cleaning Windows with it before running MRU Blaster. But even after cleaning the system with CCleaner the program found 257 entries which could be additionally cleaned on the system.
The user can determine the applications and locations that should be scanned and cleaned in the program's settings which is also the location to download the two available plugins which clean cookies and temporary files.
Take note that you are able to set the app to run on a schedule or every time you start up your machine. MRU-Blaster is freeware for Windows only.
